About Audley...

Audley Harrison MBE is a former professional British boxer who competed from 1992 to 2013. As an amateur, he won numerous titles, which culminated in a Gold medal in the super-heavyweight division at the 2000 Olympic Games, becoming the first ever British boxer to win Olympic Gold in that division.

In his professional career, he went 19 fights unbeaten before losing in a challenge for the British and Commonwealth titles by a split decision. He went on to become a two time prizefighter champion (the only boxer to do so), and challenged for the WBA Heavyweight Title in 2010, the same year he was successful in winning the European Heavyweight Title.

Audley was instrumental in changing the landscape for Olympic style Boxing in Britain, as his Gold medal was the catalyst for UK Sport to approve boxing to the World Class Performance Plan, allowing boxers to receive funding & support, which has resulted in numerous medals at the Olympics since then.

Audley was awarded an MBE in the 2001 Queen's New Year’s Honours List for his services to sport.
